Eco Lodge Accommodations & Facilities

Altos Del Pastaza Rainforest Eco-Lodge and Reserve has 24 rooms, divided into single, double, triple occupancies. The lodge was built with materials that respect the ecosystem and that can provide great comfort to our guests at the same time. The Altos Del Pastaza Rainforest Lodge's rooms are scattered on a 65 hectares’ reserve of virgin rainforest that has remained intact through centuries thanks to our constant protection.

All rooms have a perfect view on the rainforest reserve and/or on the majestic Pastaza River. Each room includes a private restroom, hot and cold showers, chair, table, electricity or candles as well if you prefer, all this giving you a fascinating atmosphere with the inimitable rain forest sounds.

The Altos Del Pastaza rainforest eco- provides you with:

  • Nice decorated Restaurant
  • Main viewpoint, "el Mirador"
  • Swimming pool
  • Game and TV room with a small library
  • Filo de Tierra bar (on the edge of the earth’s bar)
  • Natural pool
  • Handicraft shop
  • Fireplace
  • Caida del Sol bar (Sunset bar)
  • Relaxing sites
  • Several rainforest view points

The Restaurant, the Bar at the edge of the earth and a few other facilities of the Lodge were designed by a local artist, Rodrigo Cevallos, well know for his paintings over naked human bodies. He used natural rainforest plants and paintings showing local Indian tradition and culture.

The most important touristic attraction: the main viewpoint known as “el Mirador"; this incredible setting was what inspired the construction of the eco-lodge. From there you can appreciate our rainforest reserve, the Sangay national park and the Sangay, the Altar, and the Tungurahua Volcanoes. You will also have the chance to see the merging of the Puyo River into the Majestic Pastaza River and notice the Indian communities.

We have a nice and well-chlorinated swimming pool where you can refresh yourself from the exuberant rainforest heat.

We also have the game and TV room with its small library where you can play chess and other interesting games or read books.  You can also enjoy the company of others guests as we do offer bar services. Our hours are posted in the information booklet in your room
The Lodge has a natural pool, where you can refresh yourself; we also share the Pastaza and Puyo river shore sides, where we will go as part of our excursions.

We have as well a gift and handicraft shop where you can buy souvenirs and we offer laundry services

TIPS

As per “Próxima Parada” a TV travel program which shows the most important turist attractions- destinations in Ecuador we are proud to announce that our lodge and reserve in one of the 10 more beautiful places to visit in Ecuador and unique in the rainforest region of Ecuador

Rain forest is one the world’s most biologically diverse ecosystems, even when it is less than 7 percent of the land surface on Earth.

Rain forest ecosystems contain more plant and animal species than virtually any other habitat in the world.

Rain forests play a critical role in global climate regulation by absorbing carbon dioxide and liberation of Oxygen to earth.

One hectare (about 2.5 acres) of tropical rain forest may contain more than 600 species of trees.

Many as 1,000 different cultures of indigenous peoples may be living in rain forests worldwide.

The early 1990s tropical forests were being destroyed at a rate of approximately 28 hectares (70 acres) a minute; 14 million hectares (35 million acres) each year.
