The lodge is located in the Central Rainforest of Ecuador, near Pomona town; Pastaza province, its entrance: Km 16 route Puyo-Macas Cities. Our unique rainforest lodge is located on the upper Amazon basin overlooking the majestic “Pastaza” River, where you also can appreciated the national Amazonic reserve, Sangay national park, as well “Sangay, Altar, and Tungurahua” Volcanoes. You also will have the chance see the merge of “Puyo” River over the Majestic “Pastaza” River and Indian communities.
You can get it for land and air, from Quito the capital it just takes approximately 5 1/2 hours by car, 35 minutes by plane to get to our Lodge; from Baños, it will take you approximately 1 ½ hour.
Our bi lingual Staff will be waiting for you at “Quito or Guayaquil” international airports and or at the bus station of “Puyo” City to transport you to our Lodge; we can also pick you up at your hotel as your wish.
The road from Quito or Guayaquil to its entrance Km 16 route Puyo-Macas Cities is paved, so you can have a safe and enjoyable journey.
How to Get to the Lodge
Altos Del Pastaza rainforest lodge is located near Pomona town; its entrance: Km 16 route Puyo-Macas Cities. You can get there by Land and air transportation.
Alternative A: By land: Quito-Ambato- Baños-Puyo Cities. This is the most popular route for our foreigners, where you can appreciate the “Volcanoes Route”, Cotopaxi, Tunguhua Volcanoes, (Last one very active, last eruption February 2008), you will have the opportunity to observe the Andes Cities of Latacunga, and Ambato, and Finally Baños City which is one the most tourist cities in Ecuador, this is as well the entrance to the central rainforest.
At the Bus Station in Quito city, there are buses that departure every 1 hour to Baños city and every 2 hours to Puyo city. Out Staff will be waiting for you at the Bus station of Puyo City according to the package of you interest.
Alternative B: By Small Planes: There are several air companies that fly from Quito to Shell Town. Our Staff will coordinate and will be waiting at the airport of "Shell" town to transport you to the Lodge. The flight from Quito city to Shell Town is approximately 35 minutes, and 1 hour from this place to the Lodge.
During the flight you can see the how from fascinating Andes Mountains with its volcanoes transform to the tropical rainforest basin in just a few minutes flight.
Alternative C: If you already are in "Baños" City:
You can take the local bus and our Staff will be waiting for you at "Puyo" City Bus terminal, or our partner Travel agencies will take you in private transportation, we also have our own transportation to take you from "Baños" city directly to our Lodge. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy your trip, since on the route there is a lot to see.
Alternative D: You can get in your own to "Puyo" City, our staff will be waiting for you at the Puyo Bus terminal to transport you to our lodge (1:PM y 4 PM), at the end of your visit in this option we will transport you back to the "Puyo" city Bus terminal (2 PM).
Alternative E: You can get in your own to the lodge. There is a local Taxi services at the Bus Terminal of "Puyo" City.
